School Description and Mission Statement 

This section provides information about the school’s goals and programs. 

This is the nineteenth year of the School Accountability Report Card that was established by Proposition 98, an initiative passed by California voters.  As you read the Report Card, you will gain a better understanding of College Heights; a school with a record for improvement, a faculty that is professionally skilled and personally committed to meeting the learning needs of students and a student body that is enthusiastic and motivated to perform well. Our students, staff and parents are proud and believe in our school motto:

 

“College Heights is a safe place where all teachers can teach and all students can learn”

 

Opportunities for Parental Involvement 

This section provides information about opportunities for parents to become involved with school activities.  

At College Heights School we fully believe that a child's first teacher is their parent.  With this as our guiding principle we endeavor to provide our parents and our community with resources and information that's useful and informative.  Starting in 2007-2008, the School Site Council voted to make our Community Relations Liaison a full time position whose job is to connect parents with available community resources, coordinate monthly Parent Education Workshops, facilitate PTA meetings and oversee our district advisory parent members.  Parents serve on our School Site Council and volunteer in many of our classrooms.  Parents benefit from a number of programs on campus.  Parent education opportunities will be offered during the day and evening hours. These programs offer parents opportunities to meet twice a week to receive supplemental instruction for themselves and how to work with their children at learn basic academics at home.
