§          Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process

§          Academic excellence is a three-part agreement involving students, parents and teachers

§          Curriculum and instructional practices should incorporate a variety of learning activities to accommodate differences in learning styles

§          Teachers, administrators, parents and the community must collaborate effectively to reach our students’ social, emotional and academic expectations.

Nichols’ mission is to educate the whole child:

Socially – to become a valued member of society;

Emotionally- to be a stable, productive citizen;

Academically – to achieve his or her highest potential.

Opportunities for Parental Involvement

This section provides information about opportunities for parents to become involved with school activities.

Parental Involvement is always encouraged at Nichols Elementary.  Most classrooms have a volunteer room parent that works closely with the teacher to coordinate classroom activities and special events as well as parents that contribute time on a regular basis to assist the teacher with various classroom tasks.  Additionally parent involvement is encouraged through our Boosters Club and our School Site Council Committee.  The parent, teacher, student team is critical to all of our students successes.  Parents are always encouraged to call the school office to find out additional was to be involved at school.
