School Description and Mission Statement

This section provides information about the school’s goals and programs.

This is the nineteenth year of the School Accountability Report Card that was established by Proposition 98, an initiative passed by California voters.  As you read this Report Card, you will gain a better understanding of Noble Elementary, our record of improvement, information about our professionally skilled staff that is personally committed to meeting the learning needs of students and a student body that is challenged and motivated to succeed.

The goal of our school is to maintain an environment that encourages and provides for high academic achievement, with the belief that all children can and must learn.  High expectations are maintained for every student and every child is expected to do their best.  Personal and social responsibility is recognized as fundamental to learning.

Our mission is to join staff, students, parents and community in promoting academic achievement for all students to enable them to lead productive lives in a diverse and increasingly complex society.  Student’s achievement and respect for self and others are basic requirements for the development of capable individuals.  We believe parents are the key to a child’s success and strive to develop a working partnership between parents, staff, and students.

Opportunities for Parental Involvement

This section provides information about opportunities for parents to become involved with school activities.

Noble School is fortunate to have parents and a community that are supportive of our school.  Parents are involved in the school PTA and School Site Council, with its SAC and ELAC subcommittees.  Parent/School activities include Back to School Night, Parent/Teacher Conferences, Music Programs, Parent Monitoring, and Parent Recognition Activities.

Parents are kept informed about school activities, programs and student progress through our monthly newsletter (The Knightly News).  Notices sent home are in English and Spanish.  Teachers maintain communication via newsletters, notes, conferences, phone calls and/or home visits.

Many local businesses support school activities, such as Red Ribbon Week and Read Across America.  The Community Reader Program provides release time for employees from the Bakersfield East Rotary Club to volunteer as mentors in reading.  Health and government agencies provide information to students and parents regarding prevention education, insurance, fire safety, legal requirements, etc.
