School Description and Mission Statement

This section provides information about the school’s goals and programs.

This is the nineteenth year of the School Accountability Report Card that was established by Proposition 98, an initiative passed by California voters.  As you read the Report Card, you will gain a better understanding of Pauly as a school with a record for improvement, a faculty that is professionally skilled and personally committed to meeting the learning needs of students and a student body which is enthusiastic and motivated to perform well.

Pauly School is a neighborhood school located in the southern part of Bakersfield.  It is one of 41 schools operated by the Bakersfield City School District.  Our population included a Headstart pre-school and a Special Day Learning Handicapped class in addition to our K - 5 regular education classes.

Our mission is to provide a positive and effective integrated learning environment.  This will give students successful experiences that promote high achievement and will create respect and appreciation for self and others.

Opportunities for Parental Involvement

This section provides information about opportunities for parents to become involved with school activities.

The community is invited to participate in school-wide activities such as: School Awards Programs held quarterly after report cards are sent home. Pauly School has established a partnership with the following companies to supply awards for this: John’s Incredible Pizza, Me ‘N’ Ed’s Pizza, Home Town Buffet, Sizzler, In “N’ Out Papa O’s, Burger King, Subway, Mimi’s, Skate Land and Chili’s.

Parents are invited to take active participation in their children(s) education by helping in the classrooms, becoming a PTA member, attending parent/teacher conferences in the fall, organizing a Drill Team/after school activities (coaches), participating on committees for Cinco de Mayo, Black History Programs and Fall Festival, tutoring or offering to help in other ways.

Pauly parents are invited to become member of the School Site Council, School Advisory Committee and the English Language Learners Committee.
